Allen plays an agent for lounge acts, who gets mixed up with his number of singer's girlfriend. We meet Lou Canova (small nightclub singer), who das an affair with a mobster's wife Tina Vitale (Mia Farrow). Danny begins to work with Lou and soon manages to get a record executive to agree to come and hear Lou's set. Lou tells Danny that Tina must be with him while he performs. However Tina doesn't want to be there...
