First musical comedy directed by Woody Allen. DJ (Natasha Lyonne), 17 years old girl from Upper East Side tells a story of her numerous family living in a very luxurious Park Avenue apartment. Her stepsister Skyla (Drew Barrymore) is in love with Holden (Edward Norton) while her mother Steffi (Goldie Hawn) organizes some charity for former prisoners. Steffi's first husband Joe (Woody Allen) is a writer and he lives in Paris. He is travelling all the time, trying to find a perferct partner. DJ spends her vacation with Joe in Venice. During a supper Joe notices some beautiful woman (Julia Roberts), who appears to be a patient of Steffi's friend, psychiatrist. DJ tries to help her father in meeting Von.
